Robert J. Torra Joins Fairfield County Bank Corp. as VP of Professional
Banking Services


April 17, 2006 - Robert J. Torra of Stamford has joined Fairfield County Bank Corp., which includes the Ridgefield Bank and Fairfield County Bank divisions, as Vice President of Professional Banking Services. He is responsible for developing business with Legal, Accounting and Healthcare professionals for the bank. Mr. Torra previously held the positions of Group Vice President/Area Sales Manager and Relationship Manager with Citibank’s Commercial Banking Group.  He holds NASD Series 7 and 63 registrations, is licensed to sell life, accident and health insurance, and received formal credit training from Manufacturers Hanover Trust.   

Mr. Torra spent most of his banking career in New York City. While at Citibank he was involved in the bank’s corporate citizenship and community programs directed toward the recovery efforts for the small business community in lower Manhattan after 9/11. This included working with state, city and federal agencies, such as the New York Economic Development Corporation and Small Business Administration, in providing downtown businesses with loans and other assistance.   

Mr. Torra served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army and 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserves retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.  He received diplomas from the National Defense University and the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College and completed the Civil Affairs Officer Career Course.  Mr. Torra holds a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio State University and an M.S. in Banking and Money Management from Adelphi University.  He can be reached at 203-854-7622.
