FIREWORKS:
Ridgefield Display set for July 4
The sky over
Ridgefield High School will once again be ablaze with the vibrant
colors and vigorous sounds of the red, white and blue fireworks
extravaganza on Friday, July 4.
This year’s fireworks will be bigger and better than ever and are
once again sponsored by Ridgefield Bank, a division of Fairfield
County Bank, and Carnall Insurance, Inc., a wholly-owned
subsidiary of Fairfield County Bank.
“What could be better than family, fun and fireworks? Celebrating
our Nation’s Independence Day with our community is one of our great
highlights of the year. We, Ridgefield Bank and Carnall Insurance,
are honored to once again sponsor the exciting and spectacular
festivities,” says Gary Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Ridgefield Bank, a division of Fairfield County Bank.
Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. for picnicking on the upper and lower
fields with the fireworks beginning at dusk. Rain date is Sunday,
July 6.
The Ridgefield Fire Department, Volunteer Fire Department, Police
Department and Parks & Recreation have pooled their cooperative
expertise and energy into a support system insuring a safe and
scintillating evening of breathtaking fun.
Parking will be available at Ridgefield High School and Barlow
Mountain School with shuttle buses taking celebrators from the
latter spot to the site. No parking passes are needed and
handicapped parking is available on the upper field of Ridgefield
High School. Food is available but you may also bring your own
picnic along, however no grills are allowed and it is an
alcohol-free event. And of course there will be music! What better
way to set the mood than with rousing renditions of patriotic songs.
