Mortgage Originator 

Job Description
Originates FHA/VA, conventional and other hybrid mortgage loans.  Generates mortgages against established target objectives and maintains quality standards according to Bank policy.

Responsibilities
 

• Solicits residential first mortgages through developing contacts with realtors, builders and developers, as well as solicits mortgage refinancing 
• Interviews mortgage applicants, originates loan applications and cross-sells bank products and services such as home equity lines of credit and life insurance/homeowners insurance 
• Monitors the loan application and underwriting process up to closing, with emphasis on speed of delivery and ease of process

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business required with additional training in marketing, sales and mortgage banking
• A minimum of three years retail banking and lending (especially mortgage lending) experience is essential
• Understanding of local lending market and competition as well as economic trends and their potential impact on the lending environment is a strong plus
• Excellent interpersonal and computer skills essential
